Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 15, 2025
At Brain-Logix, we take your privacy seriously. This isn't one of those policies written by lawyers trying to cover every possible scenario with confusing language.
We're a small team based in Taichung, and we're going to explain exactly what data we collect, why we need it, and what we do with it. This policy complies with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and applies to all services we provide through brain-logix.com.
Information We Collect
When you work with us or visit our website, we collect different types of information. Here's what that looks like in practice.
Information You Give Us Directly
When you fill out a contact form or send us an email, you're choosing to share information with us. This usually includes your name, email address, phone number, and whatever details you provide about your project. If we end up working together, we'll also need business information like your company name and billing details.
Information We Collect Automatically
Like most websites, ours collects some technical information when you visit. Your browser sends us data about your IP address, what type of device you're using, and which pages you look at. We use this to understand how people use our site and to fix problems when they come up.
Information from Projects
When we build scripts or bots for you, we might need access to certain data to test and deploy our work. This varies by project, but we only access what's necessary and we always discuss this with you first.
How We Use Your Information
We're not in the business of collecting data for the sake of it. Everything we collect serves a specific purpose related to providing our services.
- To respond to your inquiries and provide quotes for potential projects
- To communicate with you about ongoing work and project updates
- To deliver the scripts and bots we build for your business
- To provide technical support when you need help
- To send invoices and process payments
- To improve our website and understand how visitors use it
- To comply with legal obligations under Taiwan law
We don't use your information for marketing unless you specifically ask us to keep you updated about our services. And even then, you can opt out anytime.
Data Storage and Security
Your information lives on secure servers, and we take reasonable precautions to protect it. But let's be honest about what "secure" actually means in 2025.
Our Security Approach
We use encrypted connections for all data transmission. Our servers have standard security configurations and regular updates. Access to client data is limited to team members who need it for their work. We use secure authentication and regularly review who has access to what.
That said, no system is completely immune to security breaches. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If something does happen, we'll let you know promptly and work to fix it.
How Long We Keep Your Data
For active projects, we keep your data as long as we're working together. After a project ends, we typically retain project-related information for three years. This helps us provide support if you need it later and meets Taiwan's business record requirements.
If you just contacted us but we never worked together, we'll keep your inquiry details for one year in case you come back. After that, we delete it.
Sharing Your Information
We're a small operation, so we don't have complex data-sharing arrangements. But there are a few situations where your information might be shared.
Service Providers
We use a few external services to run our business. Our email hosting provider sees the messages we exchange. Our accounting software stores billing information. Our server hosting company technically has access to data on their servers. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.
Legal Requirements
If we're legally required to share information by Taiwan authorities, we will. This might happen in cases involving court orders or legal investigations. We'd prefer to notify you if this happens, unless we're legally prohibited from doing so.
Business Transfers
If Brain-Logix is ever sold or merged with another company, your information would likely be part of that transfer. We'd notify you before this happens.
We don't sell your data to third parties. We don't trade it. We don't use it for advertising networks. Your business information stays with us.
Your Rights Under Taiwan Law
Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act gives you specific rights about your personal information. Here's what you can do and how to actually do it.
| Your Right | What This Means |
|---|---|
| Access | You can ask to see what personal data we have about you |
| Correction | If something's wrong or outdated, you can ask us to fix it |
| Deletion | You can request that we delete your information, subject to legal retention requirements |
| Data Portability | You can get a copy of your data in a commonly used format |
| Restrict Processing | You can ask us to stop processing your data under certain circumstances |
| Withdraw Consent | If you gave us permission to use your data, you can take it back |
To exercise these rights, just send us an email at help@brain-logix.com. We'll respond within 15 days, which is what Taiwan law requires. We might need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests, especially if you're asking for sensitive information.
Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses minimal tracking. We don't have complex cookie systems or advertising pixels.
We use basic analytics to understand how people find and use our site. This helps us know if our content is actually useful or if our contact form is broken. These analytics collect anonymized data about page views, referral sources, and general location information.
We also use essential cookies that make the website work properly, like remembering if you've seen certain messages or maintaining your session if you use our contact form.
Your browser can block cookies if you want, though some parts of the site might not work as smoothly.
International Data Transfers
We're based in Taiwan and our servers are located here. But the nature of the internet means your data might pass through servers in other countries when you access our website or exchange emails with us.
Some of our service providers operate internationally. For example, our email service might route messages through servers in multiple countries. When this happens, we choose providers that maintain adequate data protection standards.
If you're contacting us from outside Taiwan, understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in Taiwan under Taiwan's privacy laws.
Children's Privacy
Our services are for businesses, not children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years old. If you're a parent and you think your child has somehow provided us with personal information, let us know and we'll delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We might update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll change the date at the top and post the new version here. For significant changes, we'll email our active clients directly.
We recommend checking this page every few months if privacy is something you care about. We won't make changes designed to reduce your rights without giving you notice and options.
Third-Party Links
Sometimes we link to other websites or services. Once you click those links, this privacy policy no longer applies. We're not responsible for how other sites handle your information, so read their privacy policies if you're concerned.
Questions or Concerns?
If something in this policy is unclear, or if you have questions about how we handle your data, just reach out. We're a small team and we actually read and respond to our emails.
